Bolton IPMS

International Plastics Modelers Society Bolton is a branch of the IPMS UK and we are located in England.

Our members build kits ranging from basic to very complicated; plastic is the primary material used to make most scales.IPMS Bolton is friendly and welcoming to all visitors as well as potential members. We also support diversification of our modelers. This has been evidenced by the fact that most of our members hail from far flung areas like Manchester, Lancaster and Liverpool.

We hold monthly meetings every second Thursday of the month at the St. Catherine’s church, Richmond Street,Horwich, Bolton.BL6 5QT. Our meetings run from 7.30pm to 10pm and are open to anyone who wishes to attend, including non-members. We provide refreshments during the meetings to help members bond and have friendly chats.IPMS BOLTON encourages modelers to enjoy what they build.

  • A member is given priority entry to the Kit Swap, which makes it easier get a bargain and also sell their surplus kits.

Our members have mixed ability and diverse modeling interests. These include and are not limited to:

  • Aircraft
  • Armour
  • Figures
  • Automobiles
  • Sci-fi
  • Nautical

We publish members’ magazines six times a year. Colorful professional Magazines are produced containing: modeling projects, reviews of books and kits, shows reports and a calendar of all future events.Every issue also contains reports from Society’s officers giving details on how they have been running the society efficiently.

We hold shows occasionally where members are able to showcase their different types of kits. In our events, you can expect to see trade strands, demonstration for model making and club displays. Members have the opportunity to make bargains or even sell some of their surplus kits in these shows.

A small fee is charged to attendees and concessions are given to the disabled and children below the age of 16. Free parking is also available on site.
